But a yearly service is the cheapest insurance you can get against a breakdown in the middle of January, and it is a legal requirement if you are a landlord.

What Happens During a Boiler Service?
A full boiler service takes around 30 to 45 minutes. We check the gas pressure, inspect the flue for leaks, test the safety devices, clean internal components where needed, and check the boiler is burning gas efficiently. We also look at the condensate drain, which is a common cause of breakdowns in cold weather, especially in older properties around Battle where external pipes are exposed to frost.
At the end, you get a written service report and we will let you know if anything needs attention. If we spot a minor issue, we will often fix it on the spot at no extra charge.
What Affects the Price?
The cost of a boiler service depends on a few things. Gas boilers are the most straightforward. Oil and LPG boilers take a bit longer because there are additional checks involved. The age and condition of the boiler can also play a part. If it has not been serviced for several years, there may be more work to bring it back to standard.
